The Shebie Foundation
Financial Assistance Process

The Shebie Foundation provides financial assistance to women experiencing financial hardship to help access treatment for Endometriosis as recommended by their medical professionals.

Our grant process ensures that support is provided fairly, transparently, and responsibly.

Due to the high number of women seeking treatment for Endometriosis, funding availability may be limited and not all applications can be approved.

Step 1
Confirmed Diagnosis

Applicants must have a confirmed diagnosis of Endometriosis from a qualified healthcare professional.

Accepted documentation may include:

• Specialist diagnosis letter
• Surgical diagnosis report
• Referral letter from a treating doctor
• Medical records confirming diagnosis

This requirement ensures that funding is directed to women who have received formal medical assessment and diagnosis.

The Shebie Foundation does not diagnose medical conditions.

Step 2
Treatment Plan From a Specialist

Applicants must provide documentation from their treating medical professional outlining the recommended treatment.

This may include:

• Specialist consultation letter
• Surgical recommendation
• Treatment plan documentation
• Cost estimate from the treating clinic or hospital

This step ensures that:

• Medical decisions remain between the patient and their healthcare provider
• The Shebie Foundation does not recommend or determine medical treatment

The role of the Shebie Foundation is financial support, not medical direction.

Step 3
Financial Hardship Assessment

The Shebie Foundation is designed to support women who face financial barriers to accessing recommended treatment.

Applicants will be asked to provide information about their financial circumstances, which may include:

• Household income
• Employment status
• Out-of-pocket medical costs
• Health insurance coverage
• Supporting documentation where appropriate

Each application will be assessed confidentially to determine the level of financial hardship and the potential impact of assistance.

Our goal is to ensure that funds are directed to those who need them most.

Step 4
Grant Review Process

Once all documentation has been received, the application will be reviewed by the Shebie Foundation Grant Review Panel.

This panel may include members of the Shebie Foundation leadership team and independent advisors.

The review process considers:

• Confirmation of diagnosis
• Recommended treatment plan
• Financial hardship level
• Availability of grant funding

The Shebie Foundation may provide partial or full financial assistance, depending on available funds and the circumstances of each applicant.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome once the review process has been completed.

Step 5
Payment Process

If a grant is approved, payments may be made:

• Directly to the treating clinic or hospital
• As reimbursement for approved medical expenses
• As partial contribution toward treatment costs

This ensures that funds are used specifically for the approved medical purpose.

Important Note

The Shebie Foundation:

• Does not provide medical advice
• Does not recommend specific doctors or clinics
• Does not determine medical treatment

All medical decisions remain between the patient and their healthcare professionals.

The Shebie Foundation's role is to help remove financial barriers to accessing treatment.
