Who Can Apply for Support
The Shebie Foundation provides financial assistance to women living with Endometriosis or Adenomyosis who are experiencing financial hardship and require treatment recommended by their healthcare professionals.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following criteria.
Medical Diagnosis
Applicants must have a confirmed diagnosis of Endometriosis or Adenomyosis from a qualified healthcare professional.
Supporting documentation may include:
• Specialist diagnosis letter
• Surgical diagnosis report
• Referral from a treating doctor
• Medical records confirming diagnosis
Recommended Treatment
Applicants must have a treatment plan or surgical recommendation from a qualified specialist.
Documentation should include:
• Specialist consultation notes or letter
• Treatment or surgical recommendation
• Cost estimate from the clinic or hospital (where available)
The Shebie Foundation does not determine or recommend medical treatment. All treatment decisions remain between the patient and their healthcare provider.
Financial Hardship
The Shebie Foundation is designed to assist women who are experiencing financial barriers to accessing recommended treatment.
Applicants may be asked to provide information relating to:
• Household income
• Employment circumstances
• Out-of-pocket medical costs
• Health insurance status
Each application is assessed confidentially to determine financial need and potential impact of assistance.
Residency
Applicants must currently reside in Australia.
The Shebie Foundation primarily supports individuals receiving treatment within Australia.
Use of Funds
Funding provided by the Shebie Foundation must be used for approved medical expenses related to the applicant’s Endometriosis or Adenomyosis treatment.
This may include:
• Surgical gap costs
• Specialist treatment expenses
• Associated medical costs related to treatment
Important Information
Due to limited funding and high demand for support, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that funding will be approved.
